The Rooms That Build My Business

A personal invitation to WXWForum26 on October 28th, plus a first look at other rooms where we can connect!
Here’s something I’ve noticed as the founder of Ginger Liemohn Creative: the shifts in perspective that actually mattered rarely happened at my desk…they happened in rooms with others.
Conversations open doors I couldn’t have found on my own. A friendship becomes a collaboration, which becomes a service offering I never would have built alone. My business grew, but only because the rooms did. And I got invited to rooms because a collaborator invited me.
Have you thought about collaborating with me? Ever wonder where I am when not behind a camera?
Then this post is for you!
First Stop: WXWForum26
On Wednesday, October 28th, the nonprofit Women’s Exchange of Washtenaw is hosting WXWForum26 at Washtenaw Community College’s Morris Lawrence Building in Ann Arbor.
The photo above shows a friendship between Shannon Brewer from Healthy Backyard Gardens and me at last year’s WXWForum24…in a room together, building something meaningful between the two of us and with other people in that room.
It’s a full-day conference, this year themed Thriving Through Connection. No annual membership required, and no overnight stay since it’s right here at WCC.
I’m going, and I’m hoping I see you there too!
- When: Wednesday, October 28, 2026 · Full-day conference from 8 am – 5 pm with a cocktail/mocktail reception at the end of the day!
- Who it’s for: Women building businesses, careers, and community in Southeast Michigan
- Where: WCC Morris Lawrence Building, Ann Arbor; 4800 E Huron River Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48105

Why I Keep Going Back to WXW Each Month
I’ve been part of the Women’s Exchange of Washtenaw for over two years. Free to join, monthly events are pay-as-you-go, and the room is full of businesswomen in and around Southeast Michigan. I’ve met clients here. I’ve met collaborators here. I’ve had conversations that changed the way I priced a package or reshaped a service offering. In the photos below, you can see the rooms getting filled with people eager to grow through connection, along with your favorite photographer in orange:

More than the business outcomes, though, I’ve built friendships with women whose companies look nothing like mine but whose insight I couldn’t have found anywhere else. That’s the reason I keep going back. Connections fuel me, so I would love for you to join me.
A Small Gift From Me
If you register for WXWForum26 before Oct 14th and add my name in the “How did you hear about us?” field, I have a special gift waiting for you. It’s my way of saying thank you for showing up in a room I care about, and for helping me keep building the small, meaningful relationships that make an ecosystem an ecosystem.

Send a screenshot of my name listed in the referral box. Once you’ve done that, watch your inbox once you register. I’ll take care of the rest.
Where is Ginger?
WXWForum26 is one stop on a longer list. Consider this the first “Where Is Ginger?” segment, a small corner of the blog I’ll keep returning to. My clients keep asking where they can connect with me, so I’m going to start telling you. Here’s a preview of the rest:
- 1 Million Cups -Ann Arbor — a free Wednesday morning connection opportunity for entrepreneurs; meets at Bamboo coworking in downtown Ann Arbor 8:30am-10am (weekly)
- The Profile Experience — A membership-based community created by Ezra Zimbler where we bring together founders, professionals, service providers, investors, and community builders who power Michigan’s innovation ecosystem in person to learn, collaborate, and grow. (monthly)
- Connect & Collab: Women’s Network — an invitation-only referral community with women-only businesses; only one service provider per industry; no fee to participate other than the cost of a monthly lunch. Reach out if you are interested and I’ll connect you with my friend who started this group! We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. (monthly)
- York Charter Township Environmental Committee — service-based work for the township: organizing clean-up days, sustainability at a local level. Join our FB group here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61562229276603
- Herb Society of America, Great Lakes District — because a life needs rooms that aren’t about work
If a room is worth being in, my clients should hear about it before the event fills. That’s how I want to show up for you.
Come Find Me on October 28th
You don’t need a reason bigger than “I want to see what happens in a room like this.” That’s enough. It was enough for me the first time I walked into a WXW event, and it has led to more meaningful connections than any marketing campaign I’ve ever run. Want to pick up your special gift in person while meeting me in one of these rooms? Send me an email, and I will coordinate with you.
Save the date. Register today! Add my name when they ask. I’ll see you there!
